The study also revealed that eighty percent of players reported playing poker against others in the past year. Nearly as many favored casino games, such as roulette, while fewer players bet on sports. Of the four main types of online poker games, Texas Hold ‘Em and seven-card stud were the most popular, while five-card draw and Omaha were the least popular.

They can be fined up to $5 million or even imprisoned if they break the law. However, the act also applies to offshore gambling sites, which are out of the reach of U.S. law. The definition of wire communications facilities seems to include the entire telecommunications infrastructure.
